The Story Of The Drummers

In a village, there lived a drummer with his family. Once, he heard about a festival being celebrated in a country. He went there with his son. They played drums before the mass and earned a lot of money.

While returning to their village, they had to travel across a dense forest. The son was beating his drum in delight. His father feared that the sound might attract the robbers living there in the forest.

He warned his son saying, '' If you continuously beat the drum, the robbers might find us. it's better if you do it occasionally. it will make them think that the king is traveling with his army. So, they won't dare to come here and rob us. ''

The son, however, didn't realize the significance of his father's words. He continued beating the drum in his own way. The robbers were prepared. They soon came there following the sound of the drum. They beat them up and took away all the money. 

Thus, extreme happiness made them lose what they had earned through hard work.

Excessiveness is bad; and restraint is a virtue.
