Parental Pressure - A Village Girl Story

This is a story of a stunning girl Shanti aged 16 years, lived in a backward area. She was very good in studies and also holds a ranking position at a government school and was very active in other co-curriculum activities too. She was a girl who was somehow very different from others. As she was of a village, people around her and her parents were of backward thinking. Her reverie was to change the thinking of her villagers and many customs which were practiced there. For this, she used to trek out of her burg to take a look at that world. 

After every tour, she used to call a meeting of village heads discussing the severe changes that are required to step up. But as a result, no one supported her thoughts, and her parents too never sustenance her they on the contrary, always burden her to get married at an early age. But she never loses hope she kept on trying her best but the result was none. Then she took a steadfast step. She has a talk with head officials for campaigning on diverse matters. She decided on a spot where she can help that campaign. She denoted the villagers about the campaign.  

Villagers wreck that campaign and some of their children took interest in that. They came to know about many new things of which they were unaware. After the campaign got over interested children came to head to gain more knowledge about that. After some time she got an idea to open a school in the village not just to educate students but villagers too. With time, some of them joined her and they formed a union of students, and day by day they got multiplied. There she told them about diverse things that they can do to uplift the condition of the village, for every new change she was interrupted by villagers, but she handled their thoughts with patience. 

In every conference with media, she used to come up saying, these customs will be changed soon. Her school was working well with little increase in the demand of students. After a couple of months, she was observing a little change in the villager’s behavior but her parents were with the same thought. As she keeps on denying getting married, they by stealth found a bachelor boy for her. She was forcefully burdened and got married. After this, she was passionate about her reverie, but unfortunately, her-in-laws didn’t allow her. She kept on struggling, and finally, she took a Spartan step and hanged herself. After her death, it was a turning point in that village as the union was formed the students decided to complete the reverie of their mentor they took the duty of the village and worked for its welfare.

 As time passed, Shanti’s parents and villagers realized that she was right with her passion. They all decided that we all will do whatever shanty was dreaming about so that her soul gets peace. They all worked together and soon many customs were changed, girls were able to stand up for their rights. Also, their thinking was changed and beliefs got modernized, and many more things were in the queue. When she hanged herself that day was now celebrated as divas in her memory. Soon with the progress, the chief minister declared it as the district. When it happened all villagers were very happy and thought this is because of Shanti if she would be alive she gets happy more than us.
