A south african horror story

This story starts with an old man, who is adversely affected. He takes a rest in his bed. At the same time, a black man comes there wearing a hat and carrying a sack, in which a girl appears with demonic eyes. This black man performs a strange ritual through which one can see, mock coming out of an old man, which the black man keeps with himself and goes from there.

There can be heard a background quote" I am the wanderer, always searching, you are in me and I am you and we will meet again, I cannot be treated or I cannot fold, I am the wanderer and you are mine forever. When this black man comes out of the hut with his sack, that old man can be seen who is dead, he is destroyed from inside. It seems like someone took out the soul from his body. Here one thing is clear that the black man was collecting souls.

This story is of 1977 South Africa, where we will talk about a family of 3 members William, Sarah, and Mary. Mary was the daughter of William’s brother, who was dead sometime before. William came to his father’s farmhouse in South Africa because he became bankrupt. Due to which he was left with no option. Here shocking news was that an old man who was shown in the farmhouse at starting, he was the father of William, who was murdered by a soul collector. As you enter this house, you can see a girl with demonic eyes, who hides her selves when anyone comes there. As they all set themselves in the house, and at night, they all talk about Sangoomas who was a ghost. Mary says that they can be both good as well as bad.

The next day Sarah cleans the house and William tries to start the generator, but this doesn't happen. Meanwhile, we see marry was very much attached to worms and to search for their food she reaches a forest. Where she meets the same black man named Lazarus. They both talk to each other and become kind of friends. Lazarus took Marry back to the farmhouse and Sarah seeing him get scared, as she doesn't trust strangers. Here we come to know that Lazarus used to look after William's father, but in spite to take care of his father, he took out the soul from his body of which William was unaware.

Mary gives bread to Lazarus and he goes from there. The same night, electricity comes back into the farmhouse. It was seen that generator was repaired by Lazarus. For this William permits Lazarus to stay in the backyard, and this was the same backyard where William used to stay when he was looking after William's father. Sarah gets very angry for making the black man stay in the backyard but, William says they need someone to make their home.

The same night, Sarah experiences a very scary dream, in which she took candles and goes to the front door of the house. As she thinks, someone is knocking on the door. But there was no one near the door. Suddenly, she notices someone’s hand was kept on her face, and she gets up. After Watching Lazarus, she started dreaming scarily. In the same village, a meeting was held, in which a man named Obara claims Lazarus as a demon, who was killing everyone in their village. Obara now tells a flashback that Lazarus's wife was dead a long time before. And after some time due to a fire incident in his house his daughter, Fuisba was also dead. After his daughter’s death, Lazarus gone made and he has beaten his eyes with a fired wood. This incident explains the reason why Lazarus's one eye was destroyed. He says, that night the pain was heard by an ancient demon and Lazarus requested the demon to make his daughter alive so that he can once again hold his daughter in his arms.

The demon makes Lazarus's daughter alive by going into her body. The next day Lazarus sees that the demon's soul has come into her daughter's body, due to which Lazarus was cursed which was going to unfold in some time. So as we know Lazarus roams carrying a sack, in which a demon's soul was there as his daughter's body, and as he wished to again fill his daughter in his arms. It happens the same. From the next day, Lazarus started helping William and spends time with Mary. Lazarus gives some of the moths to Mary and tells her that a moth carries life. Mary takes that by hiding it from Sarah. Mary was in love with warms and moths as we see in the story.

One of the villagers comes to see Lazarus and Sarah gets scared by watching this. Due to which William says that might be possible villagers got scared that suddenly came here. William and Lazarus go to introduce themselves in front of them. As they reach the village, all of them get angry about making the black man stay in their house. A hot talk starts between Lazarus and villagers and he says that nothing will happen good with them. But thankfully no fight took place between them. William and Lazarus come back to their farmhouse.

The same night, Sarah was in a dilemma as she could never become a mother, due to this she was much tensed. She tries much to accept Mary as her daughter but couldn't do that. William clears Sarah that now Mary is the only daughter with them, but still, Sarah wants her daughter. In the backyard demon again says Lazarus that he is hungry and he can't live just by having worms. To have some food demon has to collect soul by going to the village and Lazarus accepts it. Sarah notices a demon from her balcony running, but William doesn't trust such stuff. Because we know in such stories one character is always there who don't trust such things.

The next day Lazarus while repairing the water pipe tells William about the crossroad world by making eight. The place where curves forms eight was such a world where you have a choice to go to the afterlife or want to remain in the real world and he has this gift to perform this ritual. Mary designs one family photo which includes Lazarus keeps it in the backyard. When Lazarus comes back he found this family photo and gets emotional by observing his presence with the family.
